Leigh Henry, JD
President and Co-Founder
Managing Member, Henry Investment Partners (HIP), LLC
A founding member of Future Link, Ms. Henry is an attorney and the managing member of HIP Projects, LLC, an apartment management and hospitality firm. Ms. Henry also serves as the Chief Inspiration Officer for Barking Mad Café, located in Gaithersburg, MD. Since 1999, she has worked with her husband, Peter J. Henry, and a team of talented professionals to develop Spectrum Town Center, a multi-modal, smart-growth mixed-use development in Upcounty Montgomery County, MD. Ms. Henry earned her Juris Doctor degree from The Columbus School of Law (Catholic University).

Marilyn Balcombe, PhD
Vice-President
President and CEO, Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce
In her role as President/CEO at the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Balcombe is actively involved in land use planning, transportation and economic development. Her primary focus is bringing jobs to the Upcounty area in Montgomery County, MD. In addition to her work with Future Link, Dr. Balcombe serves on the Board of the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County, is on the Leadership Group of Montgomery Moving Forward, and was Past Chair of the Committee for Montgomery. Prior to her work at the Chamber, Dr. Balcombe served as Executive Director at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown during the construction and its first year of operations. Dr. Balcombe holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting also from the University of Florida.

Yamu Cham, MBA, PMP

As a graduate of Future Link’s first seminar cohort in Spring 2008, Ms. Cham is now a proud alumna and current board member. Post seminar, with support from Future Link, she enrolled in Montgomery College as a business major. In 2011, Ms. Cham graduated and transferred to University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, received her bachelor’s degree, and began her career at Freddie Mac. While working, she enrolled in a full-time program at George Mason University where she earned her Master in Business Administration and certification as a Project Management Professional. Today, Ms. Cham is employed at the NRECA as a Risk Consultant.

Timothy C. Hampton
Treasurer
Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and Administrative Officer, Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union
Mr. Hampton is Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and Administrative Officer for the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union (MAFCU). In this role, Mr. Hampton is responsible for the financial performance of most lines of business for the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, promoting the Credit Union movement throughout the region, and ensuring the delivery of unparalleled service and value to members while acquiring greater market share. Mr. Hampton is a financial service industry veteran with a robust operations background since 1982. Prior to MAFCU, he joined PNC Bank in 2006 and gained additional responsibilities, including a promotion to Senior Vice President and Director of Operations for PNC Financial Services Group. In 2009, Mr. Hampton was asked to lead sales and service for the Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey regions as Market Manager. In 2013, he was asked to take charge and lead the operations for the State of Delaware. In 2015, Mr. Hampton was invited to become MACFU’s the company’s Chief Operations Officer. His commitment to community is reflected by his active volunteerism to Junior Achievement, his church and the community-at-large. He joined the board of Future Link in 2018. Mr. Hampton received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from La Roche College. He is a graduate of the Consumers Bankers Association Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

Ken Weiner, PhD
Past-President and Co-Founder
Consultant, Assessment and Outcomes Measurement, Montgomery College
A founding board member of Future Link, Dr. Weiner has served as President since 2011. He is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, who retired in 2008 after 37 years as a faculty member at Montgomery College’s Rockville Campus. He holds a PhD in mathematical statistics from the University of Maryland. During his tenure at Montgomery College, Dr. Weiner served as Department Chair, maintained a continuing role as a faculty research associate in the Office of Planning and Institutional Research, and developed and implemented a college-wide outcomes assessment plan for the College’s academic programs. He was also Co-Founder and Co-Director of the College’s highly successful Biomedical Scholars Program. Since 2001, Dr. Weiner has provided training and individual consultation to more than 200 non-profit organizations in Montgomery County on how to measure the impact of their services. In 2003, he was presented with a National Role Model Mentor Award by Minority Access, Inc. and received an honorary degree from Montgomery College in 2016.

James Hueser
IBM, Retired
Mr. Hueser joined the Board in 2016 after retiring from IBM. His career began as an educator and coach in the Midwest. He was then recruited by the IBM Corporation, initially for a sales position, which turned into a 30-year career that moved him around the United States. Those moves included stints in IBM finance, product development, marketing and business practices. The final decade of Mr. Hueser’s career was focused on the state and local government business segment. He was part of the original " IBM Smarter Cities" campaign, which is still in place today in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Hueser’s hobbies include cycling and tennis. He has worked for other non-profits, most recently, the Washington West Film Festival in Reston, VA, where he did event planning and fundraising. Mr. Hueser is a graduate of Minnesota State University with a degree in English and Speech.

Kelly Jennings, CPA
Owner, Quincy CFO
Ms. Jennings founded Quincy CFO in 2010 to provide accounting and CFO services to businesses local to the D.C. metro area. Prior to starting her own business, but after working for Arthur Andersen LLP, Ms. Jennings worked as a leader in accounting and finance for a privately help real estate consulting firm and a publicly traded biotech company. She has helped her clients work towards growth and sustainability by building sound financial reporting, process improvement, and strength in infrastructure throughout the back office. Ms. Jennings is active in the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants serving as a member of multiple committees and the Board.

Tonya R. Mason, PhD
Collegewide Dean of Student Success and Rockville Student Affairs, Montgomery College
Dr. Mason brings more than 25 years of experience in student affairs to her role as the collegewide dean of student success and Rockville student affairs at Montgomery College. Since 2001, she has served students at the College as a counselor and department chair of Counseling and Advising; as an administrative associate in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Services; and most recently as the associate dean of student services at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. Notable accomplishments in these roles include developing more than 70 transfer articulation agreements with four-year institutions and other community partners, creating a successful athletic eligibility certification process, and managing relevant academic area reviews and outcomes assessment processes. In addition, she has participated in many campus and collegewide committees including the Academic Area Review Committee, Title IX Advisory Committee, Collegewide Behavioral Intervention Team, Closing the Achievement Gap Task Group, and the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. These and other contributions earned Dr. Mason the Faculty Outstanding Service Award in 2011. Prior to joining Montgomery College, Dr. Mason served in various capacities at the University of Maryland, the University of Pennsylvania, and Towson University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, as well as Master of Arts and doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland.

Jeff Miller
President and CEO, Jeff Miller Consulting Alliance (JMCA)
As President and CEO of Jeff Miller Consulting Alliance, Mr. Miller offers his clients passion and expertise honed by more than 30 years of entrepreneurial and community experience. He helps small- to mid-sized business owners—as well as non-profit organizations—create and implement systems for improving accountability, develop leadership skills, build better teams and achieve financial stability and growth. He also believes in the power of giving back as exemplified by his service on the Board of Leadership Montgomery, as a past president of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce, past chair of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County, and past chair of Manna Food Center. In 2015, JMCA was awarded The Sole Proprietor of the Year Award by the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County and the 2016 Community Service Award by the Rockville Public Safety Committee. Mr. Miller was also recognized as the Citizen of the Year by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Miller graduated Magna Cum Laude from the City University of New York with a degree in History. He joined the Board in 2018.

George Quinn, CPA
Founder and CEO, TBH Consulting
Mr. Quinn is the founder and CEO of TBH Consulting, which provides accounting and financial reporting advisory services to public and private companies. Prior to launching TBH Consulting, he spent more than 29 years in public accounting, including 18 years as a Partner. Most recently, he led Ernst & Young's (EY) Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice for the Northeast region. Before leading the FAAS practice, Mr. Quinn served as an audit partner at EY. Mr. Quinn has served on several boards in the past including the Aerospace Industries Association, the Northern Virginia Technology Council (Treasurer for two years), and The National Center for Children & Families (Treasurer for five years). He joined Future Link’s Board in 2017.

Julia Rader, MS, CPRW
Director, Career & Internship Services Center, The Universities at Shady Grove
Ms. Rader joined Future Link’s Board in 2014 representing one of Future Link’s main educational partners. She is a senior-level higher education professional with more than 20 years’ experience in student affairs, strategic development, career and experiential learning, external relations and collaborative partnerships. Ms. Rader has held numerous roles within the University System of Maryland including Coordinator of the Federal Work-Study Community Service Program, Education Finance Coordinator, and most recently as Director of Career & Internship Services at the Universities at Shady Grove. A former Co-Chair of Montgomery County Business and Professional Women’s Organization and Scholarship Committee, Ms. Rader was previously honored with their “Young Careerist” Award. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and completed a Master of Science in Management with a specialization in Nonprofit Administration from University of Maryland University College.

Max Shevitz
President, Learning Tree International (retired)
A veteran of the business world, Mr. Shevitz is retired after a 30-year career in the professional training and education field. Most recently he served as President of Learning Tree International, a leading worldwide provider of technology training to large corporate and governmental organizations. Previously, Mr. Shevitz held corporate leadership positions as Executive in Residence, Education for Great Hill Partners and CEO of UMUC Online. Mr. Shevitz has an MBA from the University of Virginia and has been a resident of Montgomery County since completing his studies in 1981.

Ebonie Gadson
Student Board Member, University of Maryland, Information Science Major
Ebonie Gadson is currently a senior majoring in Information Science with the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). She currently works at USG's IT service desk, in addition to having two years of experience in supporting users on college campuses and a government office through technical support. Ms. Gadson also has a keen interest in empowering youth to pursue careers in STEM through assisting students to develop games, websites, and code. As a critical-thinker, she has worked on projects that involved database development, user experience design, and data analysis. In her spare time, Ms. Gadson enjoys a good Netflix binge, yoga, and hanging out with friends.
